ReportCheck.org
Opening soon. You can send reports now, and a person reads every one. Automatic replies, filings and the public counter start at launch.

Before you pay it

Got a notice that looks official? Send it in for a check.

Forward the email, or send a photo of the letter. We'll tell you what it is, what the real thing costs, and what to do next, and file it with the right authorities for you, without your name.

check@reportcheck.org

No account, no forms. A person reviews every report before anything is filed.

Report #1 ยท Oct 2026Checked

A "compliance services" mailer, sent to a Florida nonprofit

It appears to imitate a state notice and asked $347 for three items. The price-check:

ItemFrom the real source
EIN (IRS employer number)No cost, IRS.gov
Labor law postersNo cost, DOL.gov
Certificate of StatusA few dollars, Sunbiz
The mailer asked$347

What we recommended: don't pay, don't scan its QR code, keep the letter.

How it works

From your inbox to the public record

This is how it works once we open. Until then, a person reads your report and replies by hand.

  1. Send it

Forward the email or text, or send a clear photo of the letter, to check@reportcheck.org.

  2. We check it

Our AI assistant drafts the findings. A case reviewer reads every one before anything goes out.

  3. You get a reply

What the item is, what the real thing costs, what we recommend, and how to report it yourself.

  4. We file it

With the FTC, your state attorney general and the agency it appears to imitate. Your name stays out.

  5. It counts

Your report adds one to a public counter, by kind of practice, so patterns are easy to see.

Your choices

You decide how involved to be

Sending a report means you get one reply. Anything after that needs your yes.

Default

Stay anonymous

Nothing that points to you leaves us. Location and camera data are removed from photos, and names, addresses and account numbers are blurred before anything is shown.

If you want help

Open a case

Lost money, or need someone to walk you through it? A case reviewer can take it from there, by email, chat or phone.

Three separate yeses

What we keep, and why

Private by design, careful by default

  • The original you sent is kept sealed for a limited time, so we can spot fake reports and act fast if someone is in danger.
  • Only named reviewers can open a sealed original, and every opening is logged.
  • We never follow instructions written inside a report, and we never open its links or QR codes. We check them from the outside.
  • Only counts, categories and redacted examples are ever made public. Never who sent them.
  • No tracking scripts on this site.
  • Reports from any country get a reply. Where we can't file locally, we file through econsumer.gov.
